Silver Vs. Ammo...

Well...the cost to shoot a 30 round mag of 7.62x39 has approached (or in some cases surpassed) the price of a 1 Oz. Silver Round. I have gone from shooting at least once a week to maybe once every 2-3 Months. As far as that goes I just cant see throwing an Oz. of Silver in the garbage everytime I unload a mag downrange. On the other hand the way Silver has performed this past year in relation to ammo, I'm glad that I dumped all of my Ag into Ammo and EBR's BEFORE the panic set in. I have done a 180 degree turnaround from shooter to hoarder. I used to enjoy Stacking Ag but now I'll take Lead n' Brass over Silver all day long...!!! My buying has stopped totally until the price gouging is over and if it ain't, oh well, :signs14: I got my :censored: ... :yippee::yippee::yippee::yippee::yippee::yippee:

Exactly! I invested in a Walther P22 just to get my handgun fix and a drop in conversion for the AR. The only problem is I think many others are thinking the same way. Try locating any bulk .22lr online. It ain't easy! Lucky for me I have enough .22 ammo to last me quite a while. I'll be sitting on my .223/5.56 and 9mm while plinking on the cheap.

I know what you mean. If you can't find more, I don't blame you for sitting on what you do have. Even brick and mortar places near my house are out of .22lr bricks. But, I have found that if you hit up Wally World between morning and noon, you can sometimes get lucky. The earlier the better.

I just bought a .22 so that I can actually practice at a reasonable cost.

Like I said, it's out there. You just have to look. Luck does have a little to do with it. In the past three weeks I have accumulated about 7k to 8k rounds of it. About 4k of it was purchased at wally world this week. Some came from a gun show. Gun shows may be your best bet at this point.

You know u are in big dam trouble when the practice ammo is almost unfindable.

Word to the wise: Whatever you get....... YOU BETTER SIT ON.

I shot about 200+ rounds of 7.62x39 at the range two weeks ago to break in my Saiga and to make sure my pistol grip/trigger group/bullet guide conversion was working 100%.

I felt so guilty about 'wasting' so much ammo from my hoard that I replaced those 200 rounds with 900 rounds. I want to go shoot this weekend, but am almost afraid to as the supply situation is looking pretty bleak at the moment.

I just got a UPS shipment notification....I have 133 lbs of ammo coming to me in 4 boxes!!!

:bear_w00t::bear_w00t::bear_w00t:

On the downside, I think my UPS guy is starting to get suspicious (or just pissed at all the heavy boxes!)....I'll have to add him to my Christmas card list this year.

The black ORM-D small arms/ammunition stickers could be a hint too. :wink:

I also recently placed two other rather large ammo/mags/etc orders from JG Sales. I noticed that they shipped one UPS and the other Fedex. Not sure why, but I like to think so it wouldn't arrouse so much suspicion in one carrier.

Get a United Parcel Mailbox in a adjecent town and be done with it....... dont have stuff coming to your house if you can avoid it. You want a address that that is seperate from your local.

Hard times lay ahead.

.177 air rifles are a good idea. I got a pellet trap last year and can setup in my backyard (fenced) in a few minutes and shoot for a couple of hours for next to nothing. I will admit that it does not replace actual range time (if you can afford it!), but it still is cost effective, with this ridiculous ammo situation!
